This study explored changes in oral health-related quality of life (QoL) in the immediate postoperative period following routine tooth extraction. 120 patients who underwent extraction of one or two teeth filled out a QoL questionnaire before surgery and 3 and 7 days after surgery. About a third reported deterioration in their QoL, most commonly in ability to chew, open mouth, and enjoy food. Deterioration was not associated with factors like age, sex, or complications.
