1. This document describes an experiment to produce colored paste using natural dyes from plants. Students extracted color pigments from taro leaves, bayabas leaves, and carrots by soaking them in hot water. 2. Starch and alum were added to the extracted colors and heated until sticky. This produced three colored pastes safely and without toxic chemicals. 3. The pastes were all effective glues, demonstrating that colored paste can be produced affordably and safely using natural plant dyes.
