What is Chapter 8 Summary: War about?

Ellie tells the others about using a lawnmower to attack soldiers at the Showground, believing she killed three people. She is deeply distressed by her actions. As she tells the story, Homer comforts her and says normal rules no longer apply because they are now at war. He and Fiona then describe their journey, seeing overturned vehicles and looted shops in town, with blood but no bodies.
