What is Philippine Military Modernization Plans about?

The Philippines is planning to purchase its first two modern warships from the Italian Navy next year. The warships will be equipped with surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, and will have capabilities for anti-submarine warfare. The missile frigates, which cost $11.7 billion, will be more lethal than ships currently used by the Philippine military.
