About this document
Fuel - Thermal and Mechanical Characteristics of Local Firewood Species by Abel is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluates the thermal and mechanical properties of five local firewood species and the charcoal produced from them via slow pyrolysis. The results indicate that firewood generally has higher maximum flame temperatures and better performance for boiling water compared to charcoal, while charcoal exhibits higher bulk densities and calorific values. The findings contribute valuable data for energy management and policy-making regarding biomass fuels in Sub-Saharan Africa.
