What is The role of acidity in the decomposition of 1,2-dichlorobenzene over TiO2-based V2O5/WO3 catalysts about?

Incineration is a widely used methods for generating energy and eliminating municipal, medical and hazardous wastes while biomass-fed cogeneration can play a significant role in the reduction of CO 2 emissions in the atmosphere . However, these two combustion processes have the huge drawback of producing many organic products of incomplete combustion, including polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs) . These compounds are very toxic and environmentally persistent organic pollutants; therefore, stringent environmental regulations were imposed regarding their emissions, in order to fix the problem of their atmospheric emissions . Several methods are available today to remove chlorinated organic compounds from waste gas [6], the most used technologies being adsorption on activated carbon [7], wet scrubbing [8] and catalytic total oxidation [9,10]. However, adsorption and absorption techniques only transfer dioxins from the gaseous phase to solid or liquid phase, while catalysis allows to directly destroying these pollutants at the source of emission. Recently, V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 -based catalysts, which are commercially employed for the reduction of NOx via NH 3 -
