What is Va Dot Slope about?

The GEOWEB® cellular confinement system was successfully implemented by the Virginia Department of Transportation in 1988 to control severe erosion on sandy clay embankments along Route 220. The system effectively stabilized steep slopes by confining infill material and promoting vegetative growth, resulting in a resilient grass cover that has withstood erosion over the years.
