Limestone Analysis and CO2 Production by Benedick Jayson Marti is a document available to read on EtoBox.

What is Limestone Analysis and CO2 Production about?

1. A kiln is burning limestone and coke to produce lime. The limestone is 84.5% CaCO3 and 11.5% MgCO3, while the coke is 76% carbon. Calcination of the limestone is not fully complete. The product leaving the kiln is calculated to be 71.5% CaO. 2. Limestone treated with sulfuric acid produces CO2. The residue analysis and excess acid used allows calculating the original limestone composition as 88.5% CaCO3 and 11.5% MgCO3. 84.1 kg of water and 0.2 kg of CO2 are produced per 100 kg of original limestone.
