Samuel Hahnemann was born on April 10, 1755 in Meissen, Germany. He qualified as a doctor in 1779 and spent years wandering and experimenting, including discovering the principles of homeopathy through a cinchona bark experiment in 1790. He published his first works on homeopathic medicine in 1806 and 1810. Hahnemann settled in Leipzig in 1811 and published additional works before moving to Paris in 1835, where he died in 1843.
