The US Navy has named a new class of towing, salvage, and rescue ships after the Navajo people in honor of their contributions to the armed forces. The first ship of this class, the USNS Navajo, is based on existing commercial vessel designs and will replace older Navy tugs. It will be built in Louisiana and completed in 2021.
