What is Intensity Modulated Fiberoptic Sensor about?
An intensity modulated fiber-optic position sensor is experimentally demonstrated using fiber to bundle coupling and a CMOS image camera readout system with fast routines for position extraction and calibration. A simulation of the complete sensor system is also performed and possible sources of error are analyzed experimentally. The analysis indicates the theoretical limits of the system and identifies the causes of system errors. The results are encouraging for further development of the system setup.
