What is Narcisa Rizal: Jose about?
Francisco Mercado and Teodora Alonso were the parents of Jose Rizal, the famous Filipino nationalist. Mercado was the youngest of 13 children born in Biñan, Laguna and studied in Manila. Alonso was the second child of Lorenzo Alonso and Brijida de Quintos and studied at Colegio de Santa Rosa. She was a business-minded, courteous, religious, hard-working and well-read woman. Rizal was the seventh of 11 children in the family that included siblings like Paciano Rizal, Narcisa Rizal, and Lucia Rizal.
