What is The Meeting of Two Cultures in Peru about?

José María Arguedas lived between two cultural worlds, the Western and the indigenous. His most popular works explore this conflict and seek to promote harmonious coexistence among all cultures in Peru. Arguedas adopted the values of Andean culture and lived in close contact with indigenous people during his childhood. His writings convey the suffering of the Indian and the hope for a future with equality for all peoples in Peru.
