This study tracked the eye movements of 5 commercial pilots as they interacted with a Boeing 747-400 flight simulator to understand how pilots acquire information from flight displays. Eye tracking data was collected during takeoff, cruise, descent and approach phases of two simulated flights. Pilots were occasionally interrupted and asked to recall flight details.
