Multi-point time reversal focused field (MTRFF), generated by the superposition of serval single-point time reversal focused fields (STRFF), has important applied potentiality in many domains. However, the coherent interference between the STRFFs, with the focuses at different positions, will affect the quality of MTRFF. In this paper, the orthogonality based on the concept of correlation coefficient is applied to achieve the quantitative expression of the coherent interference. In the cases of continuous time reversal mirror (TRM) and discrete TRM, several numerical simulations were carried out respectively to study the relationships between the orthogonality and the parameters such as the distance of focused spots and the number of TRM. The obtained relationships are instructive for configuring the TRM properly to improve the quality of MTRFF. E r r is the single-point TR focused field generated by ideal TRM. ai is the amplitude weighting coefficient.
