About this document
Understanding Waves and Their Properties by Norweena Quinones is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Waves can transfer energy from one place to another. There are two main types of waves: mechanical waves which require a medium and electromagnetic waves which do not. Waves can be transverse, with oscillations perpendicular to the direction of travel, or longitudinal, with oscillations parallel to travel. Frequency, wavelength, and speed are key wave properties, and interference occurs when waves interact constructively or destructively. The Doppler effect alters perceived frequency for observers in motion
