What is Candesartan RBX: Product Overview about?

Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used to treat hypertension. It is supplied as tablets containing 4 mg, 8 mg, 16 mg or 32 mg of candesartan cilexetil. A clinical trial found that candesartan 16 mg daily effectively lowered both systolic and diastolic blood pressure after 12 and 24 weeks of treatment. Adding lisinopril 20 mg to candesartan treatment for the last 12 weeks provided additional blood pressure lowering effects beyond candesartan alone.
