Bhabendra Nath Saikia (1932-2003) was a prominent Assamese novelist, short-story writer, editor, and film director who significantly contributed to Assamese literature and cinema. Saikia directed eight Assamese films, winning multiple national awards, and established the Aarohan Trust to support underprivileged children in the arts.
