About this document

History and Features of USB 3.0 by Siru Shaajan is a document available to read on EtoBox.

USB 3.0 is the newer version of USB that supports data transmission speeds of up to 4.8Gbps, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. It introduced the "SuperSpeed" bus for high-speed data transfer. While retaining backward compatibility, USB 3.0 cables and connectors were modified from previous versions to accommodate additional pins for SuperSpeed data transfer. USB 3.0 also improved power management and increased power delivery to devices.
