About this document

Understanding Euglycemic Ketoacidosis by Muhammad Bilal is a document available to read on EtoBox.

1. Euglycemic ketoacidosis (euKA) is a challenging diagnosis where ketoacidosis occurs with blood glucose levels below 200 mg/dL or considered normal. 2. Recent use of SGLT2 inhibitors has increased cases of euKA by increasing gluconeogenesis and lipolysis while reducing insulin production. 3. Other causes of euKA include starvation, pregnancy, alcohol abuse, glycogen storage diseases, cocaine use, and chronic liver disease which can impair insulin production or gluconeogenesis.
