What is Acceptability of Intrapartum Ultrasound by Mothers in An African Population about?

This study assessed the acceptability of intrapartum ultrasound among mothers in Ghana, revealing that 97.5% found transperineal ultrasound more tolerable than digital vaginal examination (digital VE). A significant majority (98.5%) expressed a preference for ultrasound over digital VE for future labours, indicating high acceptance regardless of sociodemographic factors. The findings suggest that transperineal ultrasound should be offered as a viable alternative to digital VE during labour.
