The Attorney General has determined that two documents purporting to be proclamations signed by the Lieutenant Governor granting former BC Speakers and Cabinet Ministers the title of "Honourable" are invalid. The documents did not have the Great Seal of British Columbia affixed and were not countersigned by the Attorney General as required by law. All proclamation requests must be reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Attorney General according to established protocol.
