About this document
Alpine Glaciers by Anonymous pb4CqZ2TY is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document summarizes a study that used terrestrial cosmogenic nuclide dating to determine the timing of glacier retreat in the southwestern Alps after the Last Glacial Maximum. The study obtained new 10Be ages from glacially polished rocks in the Tinée Valley of France. These ages revealed three stages of glacial retreat at 14.9 ± 0.8 ka, 10.9 ± 1.1 ka, and 8.4 ± 0.9 ka, corresponding to the ends of the Oldest Dryas, Younger Dryas, and a late ice retreat stage, respectively.
