What is Oral Hygiene Status in Rural Schools about?

This study assessed oral hygiene knowledge, perceptions, practices and status among school students in rural South India. A survey was conducted of 100 secondary and higher secondary school students using questionnaires. Results found that oral hygiene knowledge and status decreased with higher school grades. Most students had fair oral hygiene. There is a need for public health interventions to improve oral health education and practices from an early age in schools.
