This paper discusses the use of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) for detecting discontinuities in double metal composite plates, which can occur during manufacturing and service. The study demonstrates that PAUT can achieve real-time imaging and accurately determine the size and location of artificial discontinuities in stainless steel and carbon steel specimens, with measurement errors of less than 6% and 12% respectively.
