What is Book review about?

The Laghutattvasphot.a, also known under the title of Saktima.nitako~a, is a treatise on the religion and philosophy of Jainism in the guise of a poetic eulogy (stotra) addressed to the Jina. The manuscript on which this editio princeps is based was found in 1968 in the Dela Bhandara of the Svet[mbara sect at Ahmadabad by Muni Pu0yavijaya-jL The veteran Jain scholar then sent it for editing to Professor Jaini, the author of a number of important articles on Jainism and of the recently published Jaina path of purification (Berkeley, 1979) in which we have the most up-to-date and comprehensive account in a European language of Jaina religion and thought. The author of the Laghutattvasphot.a, Amrtacandrasari, belonged to the Digambara sect. Here (p. 2) he is tentatively assigned to the tenth century, but in his Jaina path of purification (p. 80) Jaini has placed him in the twelfth century (the New Catalogus catalogorum, 12 [1968] places him c. 904 A.D.). Amrtacandra is known as the author of two other independent works, the Tattvdrthasdra (based on the Tattvdrthasatra) and the Puru.sdrthasiddhyuptiya, and also as a commentator on Kundakunda's Samayasdra, Paacastikdya and Pravacanasdra
