About this document

Impact of the Crusades on Europe by Md Nawas Sharif is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The Crusades were military expeditions launched by European Christians in the 11th-13th centuries to regain control of the Holy Land from Muslim rule. They arose from religious fervor as well as political and economic factors in medieval Europe. While the Crusades did not achieve a permanent reconquest, they had significant impacts including spurring economic growth and cultural exchange that contributed to the Renaissance. They also weakened both feudal lords and the Byzantine Empire.
