What is Miguel Hidalgo: Father of Mexican Independence about?

Miguel Hidalgo was a priest in New Spain who initiated the Mexican War of Independence that began with his Grito de Dolores call to rebellion in 1810. He was born in 1753 and had a prominent role as rector of his university. After leading a rebellion, Hidalgo was defeated, captured, tried for sedition and treason, and executed in 1811.
