About this document
Jacksonian Democracy and the Whig Party by Michael McNamara is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Andrew Jackson created the Democratic Party after leaving office. The Trail of Tears was the forced relocation of Native American tribes, such as the Cherokee, from their ancestral lands in the Southeastern United States to areas west of the Mississippi River. The Whig Party was a short-lived 19th century American political party opposed to the policies of President Andrew Jackson and his Democratic Party. It grew out of opposition to the Jacksonian democracy movement in the United States.
