This thesis examines the bio-psychosocial effects of khat use on high school students in Lideta Sub-City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The author conducted in-depth interviews with khat using high school students to understand the medical, biological, psychological, and socio-economic impacts of their khat use. The study aims to contribute knowledge on the adverse effects of khat consumption among Ethiopian youth and the challenges they face with substance use during psychosocial development.
