The study investigates the caffeine adsorptive performance and compatibility of agro-industrial residues such as rice husk, peanut shell, corn cob, and coconut fiber for use in vermifilter beds. Coconut fiber demonstrated the highest caffeine removal efficiency but was found to be the least compatible with the earthworm species Eisenia foetida. The findings suggest that mixing highly adsorptive materials with more compatible ones could enhance the effectiveness of vermifiltration technologies.
