What is Feeding by Nasogastric Tubes about?

A nasogastric tube is a narrow tube passed through the nose into the stomach for short or medium term nutritional support or drainage of stomach contents. It can remain in place for up to 6 weeks but longer term feeding requires a PEG tube. Feeding can be given by bolus, intermittent or continuous pump methods.
