What is Maglalatik: A Philippine Folk Dance about?

The Maglalatik is a Philippine folk dance that originated in Binan, Laguna depicting a fight over coconut product "latik" between Moros and Christians. Dancers wear coconut shell pieces and perform steps hitting shells together to drum music. The dance has five parts showing the battle and later reconciliation between the groups. Costumes distinguish the Moros in red and Christians in blue, and dancers strike shells on their own bodies and their partners
