Svante Arrhenius amends his earlier view that a 50% reduction in atmospheric carbon dioxide would cause around a 4 degree Celsius temperature drop. In this 1906 paper, he calculates that the complete disappearance of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere would cause around a 21 degree Celsius temperature drop, not enough to solely explain ice ages.
