What is NIRF Introduces Negative Scoring for Retractions about?

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will implement negative scoring for higher education institutions based on the number of papers retracted from journals in the past three years. This new policy aims to hold institutions accountable for unethical research practices and will include penalties that will become harsher in subsequent years. The initiative emphasizes the importance of research quality and ethics over mere publication quantity.
