This document discusses numerical and experimental investigations of cross-flow fans (CFFs). CFFs have a complex internal flow structure that is difficult to model. The study aims to use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and particle image velocimetry (PIV) experiments to better understand CFF flow fields and validate the numerical models. Results from both simulations and experiments on a sample CFF geometry are presented and shown to agree reasonably well.
