What is Little Cormorant Lake Fishery Update about?

Special regulations were implemented in 2008 on Little Cormorant Lake to increase panfish and maximize stocked walleye. Surveys in 2012 and 2017 found declining walleye catches, with less than 1 per net in 2017, though bluegill numbers remained high. Black crappie numbers were also low, with only 31 caught in 2017. The DNR will continue annual walleye fry stocking and resurvey every 5 years to evaluate the regulations.
