What is Mena Crisólogo: Ilocano Poet and Politician about?

Mena Crisologo was a Filipino politician, poet, writer and playwright born in 1844 in Vigan City, Philippines. He was the first governor of Ilocos Sur during the American Period and founded the town of Salcedo, Ilocos Sur in 1872. He graduated from UST with degrees in Civil and Canon Law and was honored as the "Prince of Ilocano Poets" for introducing the Ilocano counterpart of poetic contests. One of the streets in Vigan City is named after him in honor of his contributions to Ilocano literature and arts.
