What is Protecting Russian River State Parks about?

The 3,373 acre Willow Creek watershed in Sonoma County was purchased from the Mendocino Redwoods Company for $20.5 million, preserving the land as part of Sonoma Coast State Beach administered by State Parks. Many environmental groups supported the efforts over 40 years to halt development and logging threats in the area. The acquisition was a collaborative effort that capped long-running efforts to protect the land.
