Resolution LEG.2(82), adopted on 18 October 2000, amends the limits of compensation in the 1992 Fund Protocol related to the International Convention for Oil Pollution Damage. The amendments increase the compensation limits specified in Article 6(3) of the Protocol, with new amounts set to take effect on 1 November 2003 unless a sufficient number of states object by 1 May 2002. The Secretary-General is tasked with disseminating the resolution and amendments to relevant states and organizations.
