Based on the reported family history, Patient A's mother was an obligate carrier of the familial CVD, and at least 4 carrier females of reproductive age have a 50% chance of having an affected son. This case exemplifies the need for CVD screening in childhood and patient/family education related to the etiology, recurrence risk, and impact on employment for affect
