This study examined the biogas production potential of cactus through anaerobic digestion. Eight treatments were tested with cactus of different ages (less than 1 year, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years) and temperatures (27°C and 37°C). The highest biogas production and methane content was obtained from treatment 2 with less than 1-year old cactus digested at 37°C, producing 3500 ml of biogas with 49% methane.
