Phan Thi Kim Phuc was a 9-year-old girl living in the village of Trang Bang, South Vietnam. On June 8, 1972, during the Vietnam War, her village was bombed by napalm in a mistaken attack by South Vietnamese planes. Kim Phuc was severely burned and ran down the road naked, screaming in pain, until reaching an aid station.
