About this document
Understanding Ingress Protection Codes by Momtaz Moni is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The International Protection code, also known as the Ingress Protection code, classifies protection levels for enclosures against contact with live parts, moving parts, and ingress of solid objects and liquids. It uses two digits to indicate the protection rating (IP code), with the first digit referring to protection against solids from hands to dust and the second referring to protection from water drops to immersion. For example, an IP65 rating means protection against dust and water jets.
