Database Design Process has six stages: requirement analysis, conceptual database design, choice of DBMS, data model mapping, Physical Design and implementation. The Database Design Process is not strictly sequential - feedback loops exist, i.e. May need to revisit earlier stages during a later stage. The goal is to achieve understanding of database structure, semantics, interrelationships and constraints need to be expressed in a "language" which offers: - expressiveness.
