A contract entered into during a lucid interval is perfectly valid. A contract that can stand by itself is known as a principal contract. The elements of a contract without which a contract would not exist are known as essential elements. The contracting parties may establish such stipulation, clauses, terms and conditions as they may deem convenient provided they are not contrary to law, morals, good customs, public order or public policy. This is known as the principle of liberty of contract.
