What is Identification of critical flight loads about?

This report presents a database of Boeing’s missed loads cases over the past 30 years. The database content provides an overview surrounding each incident. The intent of developing this database is to extract meaningful trends and identify the nature of the deficiencies. Based on that information, develop a preliminary plan for an improved methodology for identifying future critical design methods. The Boeing database contains seventy (70) entries covering 6 major aircraft. These aircraft include; F-15, AV-8B, B-1, F-18, C-17, and T-45. Each “missed load case” entry has fourteen (14) searchable categories. The database suggests we focus on tool development work in the vibro-acoustic and quasi-static aircraft environments, incorporate wake field aerodynamics so that the low frequency load environment may be accurately and affordably simulated. Pressure sensitive paint should become a household name with software and hardware available at major wind tunnel test facilities
