What is Ohio Senate Advocates Fist Bump Greeting about?

This resolution encourages Ohioans to replace handshakes with fist bumps as a greeting. It notes that handshakes can transmit diseases, while fist bumps involve less contact and transmit fewer bacteria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended avoiding handshakes during the COVID-19 pandemic. By encouraging fist bumps instead of handshakes, the resolution aims to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ohio.
