It is concludedthat modellinglanguagesare neededthat allowmodellersto 1) freelychooseto representa wide and extensiblerange of aspects of problem domainphenomenacontingenton the problemsat hand;2) simultaneously co-represent severalaspects of the same problemdomainphenomenonwheneverneeded;3) reflectsemanticalrelations between these aspecte in the problemdomainmodels;and 4) extend the set of kindsof aspects that can be representedand visualizedthroughoutproblemanalysisas understandingof the problemdomainand the problemsat hand increases. An approachcalledfacetmodellingof real-worldproblemdomains ie thereforeoutlinedto deal with the complexityofcontemporaryanalysisproblems.It is shownhow facet modelscan be definedand visualized,beforefacet modellingis discussedin relation to other recent ideas and techniquesin the IS developmentfield.
