Seagrass Rehabilitation Methods Evaluated by MR Aqdam is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluated methods for transplanting the seagrass Zostera muelleri at its former site in Whangarei Harbour, New Zealand. Intact sod transplants and bare-rooted sprig transplants were equally effective, with plant cover increasing from less than 1% to 63% after two years. Sprigs placed amongst artificial seagrass mats were not successful. Cover across the wider transplant site increased from 10% to 46%, and biomass increased from 58 to 321 g/m2. Plots at the donor site regenerated within 9 months,
